Captain Joaquín is a highly experienced mariner from the small fishing village of Chimo, located at the far end of the stunning Bay of Banderas. Growing up surrounded by the ocean, he developed a deep respect and understanding of the sea from a young age. Today, with over 30 years of hands-on local diving and ocean experience, he is known as a trusted guide to some of the bay’s most beautiful and lesser-known spots.

 

Joaquín is both a certified divemaster and a licensed captain, combining professional training with real-world knowledge gained from thousands of days on the water. He knows the bay’s reefs, beaches, hidden coves, and marine life patterns like the back of his hand. From vibrant snorkeling and dive sites to secluded beaches only accessible by boat, he has many great locations to tour throughout the bay, carefully choosing destinations based on conditions and guest interests.

 

What truly sets Captain Joaquín apart is his passion for sharing. He enjoys introducing guests to the natural beauty, culture, and history of Mexico, making every trip both an adventure and a learning experience. Whether guiding a dive, cruising along the coastline, or visiting remote spots around the bay, Joaquín takes pride in creating memorable, safe, and authentic experiences for everyone on board.
